Animation & Motion graphics
Software: Adobe After Effects & Acrylic Paint
Duration: 5 weeks
The first two weeks we spent at Roc City Skatepark filming local skaters and skateboarders from RIT’s Skate Club. Using the footage, I edited a rough trailer, exported sections, and then printed the individual frames. I hand-painted each frame, scanned them, and compiled them to create the animation. For the names, I used After Effects to rotoscope the subjects and remove them to add hand-drawn frame-to-frame name cards for each of the skaters. The Krudco opening scene was created in the stop-motion lab. I hand cut the paper to represent shattered glass, and moved each piece frame by frame to create the animation.
